Junior Achievement/Young Enterprise Malaysia (JA/YE), along with support from BlackBerry, kicked off its Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) Innovation Camp on 2 May 2013 at the Global Business & Convention Centre, Petaling Jaya.
450 Young Achievers from 18 schools in the Northern Region (Penang) attended the YE Achievers' Workshop at the Universiti Sains Malaysia on Tue 26 Feb 2013. The workshop was facilitated by 40 lead facilitators assisted by 70 teachers and corporate advisors. After motivating speeches by Nader Milani, the Penang YE Area Chair and Azizan Ismail, representing the Director of Education, Penang, the workshop got underway in 4 separate halls, each accommodating 120 to 150 students. The workshop focused on the roles and responsibilities of the YE Board of Directors, hands-on problem solving, the manufacturing cycle from designing the prototype to the final shipment to the customer. The Achievers indicated that the key learning were: the value of teamwork, the importance of time management and that customer satisfaction is not easy to achieve.
For the second year running, under the AmCham YE Program, Sime Darby Industrial Sdn. Bhd. has organised the CSR Workshop for the Central Region students in the YE program.
About 70 students from 12 schools from Klang Valley, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka attended this one day workshop that was conducted in collaboration with Sime Darby’s Corporate Social Responsibility Department and assistance from Nadiah Hanim Abdul, Head CSR Group Communications & Corporate Affairs Sime Darby Berhad and team.
