The Chamber Overview
AMCHAM Malaysia (The American Malaysian Chamber of Commerce) was founded in 1978 as an international, non-profit, private-sector business association. It comprises nearly 800 members representing over 400 American, Malaysian and other international companies. The Chamber is affiliated with the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) and with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which is the largest chamber of commerce in the world.
AMCHAM's mission is to be the voice of U.S. business in Malaysia through six pillars of service - Access, Representation, Networking, Industry Committees, Corporate Social Responsibility and Briefings.
AMCHAM's governing board is lead by the president, an Executive Committee, honorary board members and other elected board members.
Members in the AMCHAM Executive Office are lead by the Executive Director, supported by designated managers, executives, and administrators.
AMCHAM drives advocacy initiatives and supports corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities through various tools and resources.
AMCHAM maintains a close relationship with many government bodies and international associations in Malaysia, to provide members with opportunities to meet new contacts and broaden their busienss networks.
