Third Round of TIFA Talks
Officials from the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, other key U.S. government agencies, and the U.S. Embassy met with representatives from MITI and other Malaysian ministries on Monday, October 10, 2005 for the third round of U.S.-Malaysia Trade & Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) talks.

U.S. government officials met with AMCHAM's Board of Governors after the day-long meetings to share highlights of the talks, and to get feedback from the business community on TIFA-related areas.

APCAC Executive Directors Meetings
Dom LaVigne, AMCHAM Malaysia's Executive Director, participated in the Asia Pacific Council of American Chambers of Commerce (APCAC) Executive Director strategy/benchmarking meetings on October 6-7 in Phuket.

APCAC is comprised of most of the individual country American Chambers from around the region, and meets three times yearly to discuss relevant issues in Asia and Washington, D.C. The Fall meetings are also an opportunity for respective AmChams to benchmark best practices and to collaborate more closely.

APCAC’s Spring Conference will be held on March 15-17, 2006 in Manila; more details will be provided. AMCHAM members are welcome to attend and participate in this meeting.

Data Exclusivity
AMCHAM, the Pharmaceutical Association of Malaysia (PhAMA) and the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MICCI) have jointly presented a position paper on Data Exclusivity. (Read the full story...)

AMCHAM has year-round internship opportunities for interested university/graduate students and non-working professionals.
